CPC FAM

An accelerator project deploying MLAT and Electronic Conspicuity testbeds in the Orkneys.

What is the project:

Part of the Connected Places Catapult (CPC) accelerator, this project focused on the unique challenges of the Orkney Islands—a region with high general aviation usage and a critical need for inter-island transport. Neuron deployed MLAT sensors around Kirkwall to validate the detection of Electronic Conspicuity (EC) devices in a mixed-traffic environment.

Partners:

Connected Places Catapult, Windracers.

Outcome:

Successful acceptance into the FAM accelerator. Produced documented deliverables for shared airspace testing and validated the sensor network performance in high-latitude, high-wind conditions.1

Regional Airports: Improves safety in non-radar environments.Windracers: Validates the route safety for large fixed-wing cargo drones.
