What is the project

A cluster of initiatives under the UKRI Future Flight Challenge. The Amey VTOL project focused on infrastructure inspection using autonomous drones, while the Atkins AAM project explored the feasibility of air taxi services in the South West. Neuron provided the surveillance and UTM integration inputs for these complex system-of-systems projects.

Partners

Amey, Atkins, Vertical Aerospace, Skyports, NATS.

Outcome

Delivered safety deliverables and ConOps reviews to the CAA. These projects helped define the "ecosystem requirements" for AAM, proving that surveillance data must be shared across all stakeholders (vertiports, operators, ANSPs).1

Infrastructure Owners: Amey (Rail/Road inspection).AAM Operators: Vertical Aerospace (Air Taxis).
